UK bookmakers: Refund Offers
Many bookmakers have started to run bet refund offers for existing customers as a way to promote interest on a certain football game for example. These offers can be used as a way to make money without any risk by using the method described in the bookmakers free bets guide section of this site. Basically by using a method similar to arbitrage betting a profit can be made from bookmakers refund offers.
Below is a list of previous bookmakers offers and how a potential profit can be made from them.
Sportingodds
Usual offer: Bet on the 1st Goalscorer in the Arsenal v Man United match (example) and we'll pay BOTH 1st & 2nd scorers as winners.
Method: Back and lay a first goalscorer (for example Ruud van Nistelrooy 5.5/5.5) where there is a close match, this will usually result in a small loss. If Ruud van Nistelrooy goes onto score the second goal in the match Sportingodds will pay out Ruud van Nistelrooy as if he had scored the first goal.
Based on the above example there would be a loss of £0.41 (5% commisssion) for each £10 placed on Ruud van Nistelrooy as first goalscorer, however this would qualify for the refund offer and return £45 (winnings less stake) for every £10 placed on Ruud van Nistelrooy if the offer is successful.
Paddypower
Usual offer: If either Man Utd's Alan Smith or Joey Barton of Man City score the last goal of the upcoming Manchester Derby (example), Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match.
Method: Back and lay a first goalscorer or correct score(for example 0-0 8.5/8.5) where there is a close match, this will usually result in a small loss. If either Smith or Barton score the last goal in the match Paddypower will refund your losing bet (in this case the 0-0 bet).
Based on the above example there would be a loss of £0.44 (5% commisssion) for each £10 placed on the 0-0 correct score, however this would qualify for the refund offer and return £10 (stake) for every £10 placed on the 0-0 correct score if the offer is successful.
Victor Chandler
1st offer: We'll refund your losing Correct Score bet(s) on ALL Premiership matches that finish 0-0.
Method: Back and lay a correct score other than 0-0 (for example 1-0 7.5/7.5) where there is a close match, this will usually result in a small loss. If the match ends 0-0 Victor Chandler will refund your losing stake (for example 1-0).
Based on the above example there would be a loss of £0.44 (5% commisssion) for each £10 placed on 1-0 as the correct score, however this would qualify for the refund offer and return £10 (your stake) for every £10 placed on the 1-0 correct score if the offer is successful.
2nd offer: Have a bet on the First Goalscorer and if the first goal is scored within the first 10 minutes, we will also pay out on the second goalscorer as a winner.
Method: Back and lay a first goalscorer (for example Ruud van Nistelrooy 5.5/5.5) where there is a close match, this will usually result in a small loss. If Ruud van Nistelrooy goes onto score the second goal, after there has been a goal in the first 10 minutesof the match Victor Chandler will pay out Ruud van Nistelrooy as if he had scored the first goal.
Based on the above example there would be a loss of £0.41 (5% commisssion) for each £10 placed on Ruud van Nistelrooy as first goalscorer, however this would qualify for the refund offer and return £45 (winnings less stake) for every £10 placed on Ruud van Nistelrooy if the offer is successful.
